Ibiza | Property Ibiza
Ibiza is located 100 kms off the east coast of mainland Spain. Ibiza is only 45 km long and 25 km wide, and has a year round population of 100.000. This increases dramatically during the summer months, when many seasonal workers and tourists descend upon the island. Most of the population is centered in and around the three major towns: the capital Ibiza Town, San Antonio and Santa Eulalia
Ibiza has become known as Europe's party capital, and is shown on TV with programmes such as 'Ibiza uncovered', as having the best clubs (such as the world famous Manumission), and DJs in the world. However Ibiza is so much more, and many resorts on the Island offer quiet family holidays.
The easiest way to explore all the island has to offer is by ferry. The ferries stop at various points around the resorts and take you from one town to another. They are cheap, and a delightful way to see the Island. There are also mini cruises to Es Palmador and Ibiza's sister island of Formentera. The island offers numerous white sandy beaches, secluded coves and bays, abundant water sports, and is ideal for a quiet family holiday - despite its reputation.
San Antonio
Overlooking the spectacular Bay of San Antonio, the main Square is the focal point of the village. It is also where the Fireworks Display which celebrates the fiesta of Saint Bartholomew on the 24th August is held. Here you will find bars, discos, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes around the pedestrian areas and tree lined streets.
There are five sandy beaches along the bay offering a variety of watersports. By night, although not as lively as San Antonio's West End, there are still discos, bars and restaurants to be found.
Ibiza town
Here you will find the Port area and the old Town, with its cobbled streets, many stalls and designer shops, pavement restaurants and spectacular views across the bay. Across the Port is Ibiza's Casino and a variety of discos. A leisurely walk around the marinas at Botafoch and Ibiza Nueva, will reveal 'how the other half live'. Sit at one of the many Cafe's or restaurants along the jetty and admire the luxury yachts that are moored along the quays.
Santa Eulalia
Santa Eulalia is Ibiza's third largest resort and is only 21 kms from the airport. There is a beautiful seafront Promenade which spans the entire length of the family orientated beach, decorated with palm trees, miniature gardens, a large fountain and a good selection of restaurants and cafés. The resort is ideal for those seeking a quieter holiday.
Santa Eulalia also sports an impressive marina, which has made it one of the desired locations for the jetset yacht owners.
Cala Llonga
At one time only accessable by boat, Cala Llonga is now classed as a mini-resort. Only five minutes from Santa Eulalia and ten from Ibiza Town, your will find a resort set in pineclad hills and magnificent countryside, with beautiful wide sandy beaches and shallow waters. There are numerious shops, bars, cafés and restaurants, making Cala Llonga an ideal family resort.
Other beaches on the Island include: Es Cavallet Beach - nudist and 'gay' beach, Playa d'en Bossa Beach - windsurfing, watersports and parties, Figueretas Beach - a busy tourist beach, Sa Caleta Beach - shallow waters, ideal for children, Talamanca Beach - family beach with shallow waters and water sports and Las Salinas Beach - the most stunning on Ibiza, surrounded by Wildlife Conservation Area, exclusive bars and a playground for the rich.
