Albacete / Caudete
Located in the province of Albacete, on the border of Alicante, Murcia and Valencia, Caudete is ideally situated yet totally unspoilt. Being only 45 minutes from Alicante airport and an hour or so from the tourist resorts of Benidorm, Torrevieja and Valencia, it is easily accessible.
In Albacete and its surrounding areas, crime is still almost non existent and children can play unsupervised in the many parks until late at night, giving it the perfect location to bring up a family or to retire to.
Caudete is an up and coming town which has not been affected by tourism and ´tourist rates´, but welcomes the growing community of English and other Europeans. Property in Albacete, land and the general cost of living is much cheaper than the coastal regions of Spain.
Eating out in the bars and restaurants is inexpensive, at around €7.00 per head for a three course Menu including wine. For the enthusiastic wine drinker, 5 litres can be bought at the local Bodega for just €5.00 but you need to take your own container! A pint of beer costs around €1.80 (Approx. £1.28)
With everything you need within walking distance, there is access to over 40 bars and restaurants, a large variety of shops, a weekly market, three supermarkets, four pharmacies, a medical centre, schools and day care for all ages, sports facilities, galleries, a castle, a bull ring and spectacular mountain views.
For those wishing to renovate a property in the Albacete area, there are good local building suppliers with all the necessary materials required. Local tradesmen and builders are also available to carry out work from restoration to new construction.
With the week long historical festival of Moors and Christians, regular street parades, local concerts from well known Spanish singers, and what seems like more bank holidays than the rest of Europe, the locals really know how to enjoy themselves!
